Stephen Ringlee

Founding Director & Chief Financial Officer

Stephen Ringlee is a Founding Director and Chief Financial Officer of CoOportunity Health. Ringlee has more than 30 years of senior financial experience, 20 years of entrepreneurship and venture investing, and 20 years as a member of a variety of for-profit and non-profit boards.

Ringlee formed Centesimus Capital in 1986 to invest in startup firms and buyouts.  Since then, he has led two leveraged buyouts (Compo Machinery in apparel robotics and Diamond Animal Health in animal health) and several startup companies (Edge Materials and Apeiron in precision measurements; E-Markets and YourVive in Web commerce; Advanced Analytical Technologies in biotech instrumentation).  He continues to actively invest in startup firms and provide, through VentureNet Iowa, consulting in business planning, capital raising and company formation. Ringlee served as managing director of Cimarron Capital Partners, LLC, from 2004-2008, after inviting the organization to bid of the $100 million Iowa Fund of Funds venture capital program. Ringlee began his professional career as a tax senior accountant for Arthur Young & Co, Boston, MA, and built a career in a variety of financial and administrative leadership positions for start-ups based in Massachusetts and Iowa. Ringlee currently serves on two for-profit boards and two not-for-profit boards including Web Industries, Malborough, MA; YourVive, Inc., Fairfield, IA and New York City, NY; Iowa Taxpayers Association, Des Moines, IA; and Ames Education Foundation, Ames, IA.

Ringlee is a certified public accountant with advanced studies in tax and regulatory affairs. He has a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA in finance from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, and completed graduate work in taxation from Bentley University in Waltham, MA.  A native of Massachusetts, Ringlee served as a captain in the United States Air Force, where he was responsible for weapons system cost analysis.
