Preventive Care Is Always Free

Remember, all of our plans include free preventive care services in addition to the Three-for-Free office visits feature (available in many plans). There's no cost-sharing and your deductible doesn't apply as long as you use in-network providers. Examples of preventive care services include:

  • Routine exams and periodic health assessments
  • Appropriate immunizations for men, women and children
  • Routine screening for colorectal, breast and cervical cancer
  • Routine prenatal and postnatal services, exams, screenings, tests and counseling
  • Routine and appropriate screenings for adults and children
  • Routine eye and hearing exams for children
  • Obesity screening and nutrition counseling for adults and children
  • Screens and cessation interventions for tobacco users
The ACA and Preventive Care — Covered at 100 Percent

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that all health plans cover certain preventive care services and appropriate screenings at 100 percent. Preventive services, such as vaccinations and screenings, help to prevent medical problems from starting, and help to find and stop health issues before they become major problems. Be sure to take advantage of preventive services. There’s no cost sharing and your deductible does not apply when you use in-network providers.

What Preventive Care Do You Need?

Healthcare guidelines identify best practices for preventing or treating a health condition. CoOportunity Health promotes and encourages the knowledge and use of these guidelines. We have adopted guidelines recommended by the Institute of Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the guidelines of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force for use in administering our health plans.
